This World Science Day was a buzz of excitement and discovery at Creative Home Nursery. Our classrooms transformed into little laboratories where children could safely explore scientific concepts through play. One of the most popular stations on world science day was our “Fizzy Rainbows” experiment. Children mixed baking soda with vinegar in different colors watching in awe as vibrant bubbly eruptions occurred. This simple activity is a fantastic introduction to chemical reactions. The children learned about cause and effect as they saw how combining two different substances could create a fun fizzy reaction. Their gasps of delight and wide-eyed wonder were a testament to the magic of hands-on learning.
Another highlight on world science day was the “Sink or Float” water station. Using a tub of water and a collection of everyday objects like leaves, small toys and stones children made predictions about which items would sink and which would float. This activity introduces them to the concept of density in a tangible way. It encourages observation, critical thinking and the scientific method of hypothesizing and testing. Our teachers were there to ask guiding questions like “Why do you think the heavy stone sank but the big leaf floated?” This helps children articulate their thoughts and build a foundational science vocabulary.

We also use cutting-edge technology like AR/VR to make abstract concepts more concrete. Imagine a child being able to walk through a 3D model of a rainforest or explore the depths of the ocean without leaving the classroom.
